Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is the “Best Beach” in the entire USA as reported on the Today show in April 2011. We beat all of them, even Hawaii. The clean white sandy beach begins in North Myrtle Beach and spreads south along our coastal Grand Strand.

If you do not like the beach or you do not play golf you are not alone but Myrtle Beach is located in a semi-tropical region that is perfect for those who do not want hot weather most of the year. That would explain why so many that had moved to further south are relocating to the Myrtle Beach area. Mild, barely noticeable winter weather, spring begins in late February and lasts for several months, and fall does have the beautiful colors as the leaves turn red, yellow and orange on many of our trees.

Myrtle Beach is the center of an area called The Grand Strand. Within The Grand Strand of South Carolina there are the towns or cities of Myrtle Beach,
North Myrtle Beach, Little River, Longs, Loris, Conway, Carolina Forest, Surfside Beach, Garden City, Murrells Inlet, Litchfield, Pawleys Island. Many also consider the southeast coastal area of North Carolina, which includes Calabash, Carolina Shores, Sunset Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, and Holden Beach to be part of The Grand Strand. There are currently
homes for sale throughout The Grand Strand at prices we saw in early 2004 when the Myrtle Beach area had just about the lowest coastal real estate prices in the country. The
condos for sale are also at rock bottom prices but the majority of oceanfront condos or those a short walk from the beach will probably require a cash purchase until lenders change their requirements.
